Those who are in the habit of enjoying a good glass of red wine accompanied by a piece of chocolate have good reason to celebrate.
A recent study conducted by the University of Exeter in England found that both foods helpfight wrinkles and keep the skin young.
Wine and chocolate fight aging
To reach this conclusion, the scientists analyzed the cells in the laboratory with natural chemicals found in red wine, dark chocolate, red grapes and blueberries, and discovered that the cells exhibited positive changes.
The experience was repeated several times and, in each case, the cells rejuvenated, said Eva Latorre, leader of the scientific work, who believes that the data obtained can lead to advances in therapies for slow down aging of the skin.
