It may happen that you leftover the milk chocolate and you don't know what to do with it? In my house it will never happen but just in case, here are some tips on how to best use it. Just don't throw it away because it is a precious food, even if less than the dark one.

This recipe for making leftovers of chocolate in a delicious dessert it's very simple, clumsy-proof. This does not mean that the result is bad, on the contrary, you will be surprised. It is a cake created to recycle the chocolate from the Easter egg but it is so good that you end up with some milk chocolate on purpose. It is very soft and children like it, it can be served both as a snack or for breakfast and is suitable for all types of white chocolate that can be left over. You can even mix it up!

To prepare it they need

  • 250 g of milk chocolate (plus about 50 g to decorate)
  • 3 eggs at room temperature
  • 120 g of sugar
  • 120 g of butter (or 100 ml of peanut oil)
  • 250 g of flour 00
  • 180 g of milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 sachet of baking powder

Melt the chocolate in a saucepan with some butter, stirring often and keeping the heat low.

Let's take in the meantime the eggs and whip them with sugar so that they become very soft and voluminous. Now we have to combine all the ingredients together with the milk, the sifted flour with the yeast and a pinch of salt. Obviously, let's not forget the warmed melted chocolate, the true protagonist of the recipe.

We are done: now the mixture must be poured into a greased and floured 22/24 cm donut mold and bake after decorating the surface with chocolate chips. The oven must be at 180 ° static, to bake this cake it takes about 40 minutes but before removing it completely it is better to do the test with a toothpick. Once ready it can be further decorated or sprinkled with powdered sugar.

A valuable feature of this cake lies in the fact that it lasts a long time and is always soft, so it can be prepared for the week of snacks or breakfasts with great satisfaction. If you prefer the dark chocolate like me you can do it with that too, with the foresight to put more sugar in it. For those who do not want to use butter, there is a solution to melt the chocolate: in a bain-marie.

Milk chocolate: properties

Chocolate itself is a very precious food with many properties. Milk chocolate it is less precious than the dark one, however, even if they have a similar origin, it is because of the ingredients with which it is prepared. There is a lot of sugar, for example, but now let's see better what can do good and what bad in this food.

never exceed the 15 grams per day of chocolate, if it is possible. Sugar is much more in milk chocolate than in dark chocolate and this penalizes the food but is inevitable. We try to eat less milk and more dark, therefore, because too many sugars pass, leading to weight problems and obesity.

So far we have only talked about the harmful ingredients but let's not forget that the milk chocolate it has a surprising number of important nutrients. In 100 grams we find 372 milligrams of potassium; 1.8 milligrams of zinc.

There is no shortage of reasons to love the milk chocolate, then. For example, in terms of taste, it is what children usually like best, but not only, because dark chocolate is often too bitter. It also wins in terms of consistency because it is more malleable and practical. It is balanced, the right middle ground between dark and white chocolate that is not even real chocolate if you go and look at the ingredients that make it up.
